Please join us in a Social Dreaming event exploring Artificial Intelligence, Social Dreaming and the Matrix as the Large Dream (Language) Model. The Social Dreaming Matrix is designed to foster thinking through dialogue between dreams and our associations to dreams. The “data” for the SDM are the dreams and associations of the members. With this design, the SDM brings rich new data to its thinking each time the matrix is convened. The most popular configuration of artificial intelligence (AI) today is the large language model (LLM), a system trained on enormous amounts of text data, that looks at patterns learned from this training data. An LLM often has over billions of parameters that enable its understanding and use of human language. The SDM, which was discovered approximately a half century ago, was and is a similar technology “trained” on the endless dreams and associations of humanity: a Large Dream Model (LDM). A discrete LDM represents a moment in time and space, capturing a fraction of the available data, yet representing a satisfactory sample to offer new thinking.
This event will be presented by Marc Maltz, Director of CSD.
Places are limited, so please register early. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
This is one of a series of events organised by The Centre for Social Dreaming (CSD) to enable new thinking in the research and practice of Social Dreaming.
